Future Proofing at Timber Connection

02 Oct 2018

Timber Connection are pleased to announce our newest member of staff to the trade. Lucy Green joins the company having graduated with a 2:1 BA Honours Degree in Geography from Plymouth University. Lucy will be learning while she works through an internal training program that provides a detailed understanding into all aspects of the business from accounts and finance through to logistics, sales and purchasing. We wish her the best of luck in her new job.

As a progressive company we appreciate the importance of succession and future proofing. In recent years we have successfully recruited a number of trainees to mentor alongside our existing skilled and knowledgeable staff. This together with trying to achieve a more balanced gender ratio in what has typically been a male orientated trade has been our goal. Since 2014 we are pleased to have employed a number of female employees from directorship level through to marketing, sales and administration which has had a positive effect on the harmony of the team as a whole and the overall success of the business.

Staffing stats at Timber Connection from the last 4 years:

2014.
77% male staff compared to 23% female. Age range from 30 to 74 years old.

2018.
59% male staff compared to 41% female. Age range from 22 to 78 years old.
