Timber Connection Celebrates 25 Years in Business

By Timber Connection/ 21 July 2016

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for the support they have given us since our formation back in 1991, that this year allows us to celebrate the prestigious milestone of 25 years successful trading. We have developed our business over the years with the co-operation of our loyal customers, together with our long-term supply chain partners.

On Saturday the 16th of July, Timber Connection arranged a special day at Newmarket Race Course.  120 people attended including staff, partners and guests. A fantastic day was had by all and it was a day to remember. We would like to thank everyone involved on the day in making it such a special 25th anniversary celebration.

The following timeline illustrates our growth over the years:

1991 – Timber Connection was originally established in a small office in Ware as a Hardwood Agent and broker.

1993 – The company started a Clear Grade Softwoods Agency to compliment the Hardwood Business.

1994 – Off the back of three successful years, Timber Connection began to trade timber in its own name.

1996 – Timber Connection’s first unsold stocks were landed in the UK operating out of a small timber yard in North London.

2001 – The business expanded its sales force and purchased purpose built offices in Crane Mead, Ware.

2006 – With continued expansion, the company relocated its stock holding to larger warehouse facilities in East London.

2011 – A new warehouse in Liverpool was located to enable the company to offer a true nationwide just-in-time delivery service from both locations in the North and South of the UK.

2016 – The company now prides itself in having one of the largest stocks of imported Hardwoods and Clears in the UK with over 14,000m3 in 30 different species.

We look forward to doing our best to satisfy our customer’s requirements as we move into a new era at Timber Connection.
