Environmental Policy
Timber Connection is an active member of the TTF and is committed to eradicating illegal logging & poor forest management. To help combat this the company has signed up to the TTF’s RPP which helps to grade and strengthen our supply lines by eliminating high risk suppliers who cannot verify that the timber they source is legal.
In conjunction with the RPP, Timber Connection has been a long time member of the Forest Forever Campaign and are also Conduct Assured via the TTF.
In 2003 with growing demand for sustainable timber the company became FSC® certified and now stock several species of FSC certified Hardwoods. To further boost Timber Connection’s sustainability programme, in February 2005 we achieved PEFC certification, and in April 2005 we achieved BM Trada’s Forest Products Chain of Custody Certification which covers the following schemes:
CSA (Canadian Standards Association)
MTCC (Malaysian Timber Council Certification)
SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative)
Timber Connection is committed to the environment because we know that with care and attention the trade will prove that timber truly is a naturally renewable resource.
